NEWSBRIEF: Open call for submissions for Minnesota Climate Eyewitness Project

Climate Generation: A Will Steger Legacy announced its open call for submissions to “Eyewitness,” a collection of short stories, poems and sketches that will highlight how climate change impacts and solutions are being seen and felt in the state.

Climate Generation is a nonprofit empowering individuals and their communities to engage in solutions to climate change. Eyewitness: Minnesota Voices on Climate Change builds upon founder Will Steger’s powerful firsthand accounts of climate change and the foundational role storytelling has played in its programming since 2006.

“We know that personal stories on climate change are important not only to help us better understand how it is actually showing up in our lives, but also as a way to move people to solutions,” said Jothsna Harris, community engagement manager. “With the imprint of climate change all around us, we all have stories to tell, and we are all eyewitnesses.”

The collection will be published into a succinct book and circulated in the MN Legislature, accompanied by testimony, on the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in April 2020.

The call for submissions is open through December 15, 2019. Learn more and submit your story, poem or artwork at www.climateeyewitness.org.
