Pine Bend Bluffs Trailhead grand opening

Come celebrate the newest trailhead and trail segment of the Mississippi River Trail made possible by Dakota County, the City of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Friends of the Mississippi River and Flint Hills Resources.
Festivities, which will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Aug. 15. The event will include a community bike ride, ribbon cutting ceremony, activity stations along the trail, interpretive programs and ice cream social.

A community bike ride departs Pine Bend Elementary, 9875 Inver Grove Trail, Inver Grove Heights, at 5:30 p.m. Bring your own bikes and bike trailers. Bike helmets are required. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. at the trailhead.
Pine Bend Bluffs Trailhead is located at  111th St. E, Inver Grove Heights.


There is free onsite parking, but it is very limited. Overflow parking available at Swift Transportation, 11380 Courthouse Blvd. Look for signs directing you to park. It’s a six minute walk to the trailhead. Golf carts will be available to assist with shuttling as needed.
Ice cream will be provided.

The event will take place rain or shine. In the event of severe or significantly rainy weather, event staff will determine if the event will be cancelled two to three hours before the event start time.
