LETTER: Keep politics out of county representation

To the Editor:

In a recent letter to the editor, the author voiced his support for Nicole Frethem, saying she lacks “political vitriol.” And yet she is running as a DFL-endorsed candidate for county commissioner. We don’t need our next county commissioner to have a political agenda; we need someone that will represent us.

There are seven other nonpartisan candidates running to be our next county commissioner. I encourage everyone to assess these candidates as to their intentions for being our next representative.

Given the disgraced resignation of our last commissioner, we need an honest individual of integrity to represent our community’s best interests. My recommendation is Randy Jessup. However, there are other upstanding candidates to consider as well. Let’s keep politics out of county and city public representation.
