LETTER: Running for Senate District 42

To the Editor:

I, as a longtime Shoreview and Mounds View resident, announce my candidacy for Minnesota State Senate District 42. The election will be held in 2020.

My top priorities in the Senate will be restoring freedom and removing government control from the lives of families as much as possible. That includes putting K-12 education back into the hands of the parents, preventing any surplus from being spent on more wasteful government programs, preventing fraud in our government programs and allowing citizens to choose health care that meets their needs and not have a government-mandated program forced upon them.

I have spent most of my working career in health care, working in dentistry for years and having my own health care compliance business.

My husband Dave and I are longtime residents of the district, having lived in Shoreview for 30 years and in Mounds View for 10 years. Dave’s family has lived in Shoreview for six generations, predating the incorporation of the city. We have five grown children and 12 grandchildren. I am a graduate of the University of Northwestern.

I am having my campaign kick-off event on Thursday, July 18. The cost is $50 per person, with a political contribution refund available through the state. See my website for details, www.candysinaforsenate.com.
