NEWSBRIEF: Early voting open for Ramsey County Board primary election

The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners has approved a special election for Ramsey County Commissioner in District 1, following the resignation of Blake Huffman. The filing period for candidates closed June 18, with nine people now in the race.

District 1 represents the cities of Arden Hills, Gem Lake, North Oaks, Shoreview, Vadnais Heights, White Bear Township and parts of Mounds View, Spring Lake Park and Blaine.

Early voting for the Tuesday, Aug. 13, primary election is open and runs through Aug. 12. It will be available by mail and in person at the Ramsey County Elections Office, 90 Plato Blvd. W. in St. Paul. 

Early voting hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Special hours closer to the primary include Saturday, Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 12, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
