LETTER: Solving State Fair parking concerns the old-fashioned way

To the Editor:

Ah, the sights, sounds and smells of the fair. No, not corn dogs ... bus fumes and grumbling neighbors.

It’s the Minnesota State Fair, embrace it. Half the kids in Roseville benefit from summer fair jobs. And isn’t it great to just walk to the corner and catch a ride to the fair in minutes? Sure, we need to adjust our driving patterns and put up with parking and fireworks. It’s temporary. Have fun with it. My neighborhood kids set up a lemonade stand.

To the Fair Board: rumor has it you may be making a buck or two. Even though it’s a vocal minority, let’s not be tone deaf. How about being a good neighbor and solve this the old-fashioned way? A couple of admission tickets to households within vicinity of park and rides and I’ll bet complaints may subside.
