NEWSBRIEF: Shoreview responding to high water levels

Grass Lake reached a record elevation in May. New berms built last year are working, but a sandbag dike failed and areas along both sides of Gramsie Road are flooded, although the road itself has remained open since the city installed a semi-permanent pump to remove water earlier this spring.

Snail Lake also reached a record elevation in late May. One picnic shelter and the volleyball court area are currently flooded and unusable. Ramsey County permanently closed the beach in 2018. The City of Shoreview will continue to work with Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District and Ramsey County to track water level conditions and take action when needed.
