NEWSBRIEF: Law Enforcement Torch Run

The Mounds View, New Brighton, St. Anthony and Roseville police departments will be participating in a leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run on Friday, June 21, to raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics.

Law enforcement officers from all 50 states will be carrying the “Flame of Hope” in honor of Special Olympics athletes, as they run through their cities passing the torch.

The local leg will kick off in Mounds View at 11 a.m. in Silver View Park, 2746 County Road I, and end at the Roseville Police Department, 2660 Civic Center Drive. Residents are encouraged to cheer officers on along the route. When runners cross into a new city, they will be passing a torch on to the next department: 

• 11 a.m. Silver View Park 2746 County Road I in Mounds View 

• 11:30 a.m. Speedway, 2010 Silver Lake Road in New Brighton 

• 11:50 a.m. Cowboy Jack’s, 2397 Palmer Drive in New Brighton 

• 12:10 p.m. Mobile, 11 Silver Lake Road in New Brighton 

• 12:25 p.m. Starbucks, 3704 Silver Lake Road NE in St. Anthony 

• 12:35 p.m. St Anthony Police Department, 3301 Silver Lake Road NE in St. Anthony 

• 12:55 p.m. 29th Ave NE and Anthony Lane S. in St Anthony 

• 1:20 p.m. Walmart, 1960 Twin Lakes Parkway in Roseville 

• 1:50 p.m. Roseville Police Department, 2660 Civic Center Drive in Roseville

In addition to watching the race, residents can also offer donations or purchase T-shirts or hats for $20. All proceeds go to the Special Olympics.
