New murals coming to South St. Paul

Join the City of South St. Paul and the South St. Paul School District Community Learning Center (CLC) in creating a South St. Paul Interactive Community Art Mural that would be placed at the Doug Woog Arena on Thursday, May 2 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Doug Woog Arena, 141 Sixth St. S.

Interactive Community Art Muralist Shane Anderson will partner with the Community Learning Center students and staff to create two murals to depict the history of South St. Paul. The students will conduct the research and work with Anderson to create the interactive murals.

One mural will be completed by the CLC students and staff. Anderson will work and give lessons to the students on painting techniques and coach them as they work on the project. The students will collectively work together to complete the mural from inception to completion.

The second mural will be completed by members of the South St. Paul community. Anderson will draw the mural and residents are invited to come and paint the mural under his direction. Come and be part of the history of South St. Paul.
