Getting Ready for Golf: Thursday, April 4 from 6 to 7 p.m. Head to Oakdale Library for a workshop on how to improve mobility and improve your golf game at the same time. Each attendee will receive a free mobility screen with recommendations for improvement. No registration required.

 Art of Teens: Safety Pin Bracelets and Key Chains: Friday, April 5 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Use beads, safety pins, and elastic to create you own unique bracelet or key chain at Oakdale Library.  Finding Your Ancestors: Genealogy 101: Thursday, April 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. Local genealogist Sherri Marier will provide hands-on navigation tricks and tips using the library version of Ancestry.com and other online genealogy tools in this class at Oakdale Library. This is a perfect class to begin your family history research. Basic computer competency is required. Registration required. STEM Saturdays: Dinosaurs: Saturday, April 13 from 2 to 3 p.m. Dinosaurs are extinct ... or are they? Put your paleontology hat on and explore the world of these prehistoric beasts with Mad Science at Oakdale Library. Compare your footprints with a triceratops, and your jawbones with a camptosaurus. Take part in a simulated dinosaur dig; can you figure out how to put the skeleton together? Take home your own fossils and a T-rex tooth cast. For grades K-6. Registration required. Virtual walk

Oakdale Wellness50+ is holding a launch party Saturday, April 13, starting at 2 p.m. at Oakdale Discovery Center. Oakdale Wellness is initiating a virtual walk across Minnesota. You will create a team to work together on the imaginary 651 mile trek around the state. There will be treats, door prizes and other surprises. Easter egg hunt 

Join in the fun with the Easter Bunny bringing over 1,400 easter eggs to hunt on Saturday, April 20, starting at 10 a.m. Please bring a cash for raffle tickets ($2/each) and donations are appreciated. The hunt is divided by age group 0-3 years old, 4-6 years old, 7-9 years old. Parking is limited so please carpool. There will be a raffle for Easter baskets, pictures with the Easter bunny and membership information about Tri-lakes association. This is an allergy-friendly event as no nuts will be in the eggs. The hunt starts promptly at 10 a.m.  so please do not be late. The hunt will be at Pebble Park located at 8160 Lake Jane Trail N., Lake Elmo. For more information email membership@tri-lakes.info


Easter Bunny Breakfast & Egg Hunt 

There are 4 seatings for the meal, which will be served in the historic Bruentrup farm house at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon on Sunday, April 14.  Tickets cost $10 for ages 4 to adult and $2 for age 3 and under. The Maplewood Area Historical Society invites you to this Easter tradition. Enjoy a hearty breakfast with the Easter Bunny and then hunt for Easter eggs in the rustic barn on the Bruentrup Heritage Farm. Get your tickets early because there are only 30 seats available at each seating. After breakfast, children can participate in an egg hunt in the barn and win some great prizes. Bring your camera and take a photo with the Easter Bunny. Just be sure to dress warmly because our barn is not heated, and this is Minnesota. Breakfast includes pancakes, rolls, sausage and bacon, eggs, hash browns, fruit, coffee, juice and milk. Bruentrup Heritage Farm is located at 2170 County Road D in Maplewood. 


North St. Paul 50-year reunion

Hail Polars. North St. Paul Class of 1969’s 50-Year Reunion is Aug. 22 starting at 6:30 p.m.  It will be at Mermaid Entertainment & Event located at 2200 Mounds View Blvd in Mounds View. For more information visit www.northstpaul1969.com. 

Guardian Angels Catholic Church events

The popular Guardian Angels Fish Fry is back. Join on Fridays March 29 and April 12 starting at 4:30 p.m. Meal includes fish (baked or fried), cole slaw, red potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans and dessert. Adults meal tickets cost $15, Seniors and carry out meals are $13, kids meals for kids ages 6-12 are $7. Kids 5 and under eat free. 

Join for Ham Bingo on Sunday, March 17, 1-2:30 p.m. Proceeds support the July 2019 Youth Mission Trip. Three cards are $8, additional cards are $1. Kids 0-6 get one free card. Snack and pop available for purchase.

St. Jerome fish fry

The St. Jerome Catholic Church fish fry is Friday, April 12, starting at 5 p.m. A one-piece meal costs $10, a two-piece meal $12, a three piece meal $14 and a pasta meal costs $5. Meals include hand-battered deep-fried four-ounce cod fillets, french fries, coleslaw baked beans, applesauce, desert and beverage. Chase Away the Snowman 5K

 The Chase Away the Snowman 5K and kids fun run is Saturday, April 6, beginning and ending at North St. Paul’s St. Peter Catholic School. The Snowflake Run for the youngest kids is at 8:15 a.m., the Kids Mile begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K is at 9 a.m. For registration or for more information, search “Chase Away the Snowman” on Facebook.


Oakdale Support Group for Families

 National Alliance on Mental Illness Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families and friends of individuals living with a mental illness in Oakdale on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, starting at 6 p.m., at Canvas Health in the community room. Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences. Knights of Columbus fish fry

The Knights of Columbus host lent fish fries March 29 and April 5 and 12 starting at 4 p.m. at the Church of St. Peter. The cost is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors, $3 for children 7-12 and free for kids under 6 years old. Deep-fried and baked gluten-free cod is available, as well as au gratin potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans, coleslaw, breadsticks and applesauce. Take-out dinners are available.
