NEWSBRIEF: Governor taking applications for lottery director

Gov. Tim Walz and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan announced that they’re opening the application process to appoint the next director of the Minnesota State Lottery.

The job description in a state press release is as follows: This highly visible position reports directly to the Governor and Lieutenant Governor, and appears before the Minnesota Legislature in matters pertaining to the Lottery’s budget and annual plan. The successful candidate must enjoy the challenges of working in a very competitive industry, develop innovative solutions to unique business challenges, and have superior communication skills to serve as the Lottery’s primary public spokesperson.

The application process works through the state’s online hiring portal, careers.mn.gov. The deadline to apply is March 28.
