Arden Hills

Drug mail

A 46-year-old woman called the police Jan. 8 from her home in the 1800 block of Lake Lane to report that someone had mailed her narcotics. She turned them over to police, who have a suspect, a 26-year-old man.


Road test rage

Deputies headed to the North Metro Exam Station in the 5400 block of Old Highway 8 the afternoon of Jan. 10 on a report of disorderly conduct and found that a person who’d taken a driver’s license road test was refusing to let the examiner, a 62-year-old Circle Pines woman, out of the car once the test was complete. Police are investigating two men, ages 35 and 31, from Brooklyn Center, and Brooklyn Park, respectively.

Yet another quiet week.





Police arrested and cited a 20-year-old man Dec. 31 on Larpenteur Avenue at Highway 280 for driving with a suspended license, and arrested and cited a 48-year-old man Jan. 1 on Larpenteur Avenue at 33rd Avenue for driving with a revoked license.



Police were called Dec. 31 to help deal with a harassing caller to the Children’s Home Society in the 1600 block of Eustis Street. Though officers identified the caller, the person did not answer when law enforcement called.



Mounds View


Police stopped a car for expired tabs the night of Jan. 12 in the 2100 block of Program Drive and arrested two of its occupants. One man, a 45-year-old from Champlin, was arrested for a drug warrant out of Wright County, while another, a 24-year-old from Coon Rapids, was taken in for felony possession of a controlled substance, as well as possession of marijuana.


‘Dispatched’ deer

Officers responded to the 2700 block of Woodale Drive the morning of Jan. 10 on a report of an injured deer, and per the police report, “dispatched the animal.”


Driver hits pedestrian

Police responded to the intersection of Mounds View Drive and County Road I just after 5 p.m. Jan. 7 after a driver hit and injured a pedestrian.


DWI crash

Police arrested a 66-year-old Fridley man the afternoon of Jan. 9 after police responded to the intersection of Edgewood Drive and Ridge Lane on a report of a property damage crash. The man was booked for fourth-degree DWI.



Little Canada

Bank robbery

Deputies responded to a report of a bank robbery at 9:15 a.m. Jan. 14 at the U.S. Bank branch in the 2800 block of Rice Street. They checked the area but never found the robber, who got away with $644 cash.



New Brighton


An officer was dispatched to a domestic assault, and watched the suspect, a 22-year-old man, leave the area. The officer stopped the man a short time later and observed a can of Steel Reserve in the front cup holder of the man’s Toyota Rav 4. He admitted to drinking, and after failing field sobriety tests, blew a .125 blood alcohol concentration. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for fourth-degree DWI.




Cash burglary

A 40-year-old woman told police the night of Jan. 11 that someone had forced their way into her apartment, located in the 4100 block of Lexington Avenue, through the sliding glass door on her balcony that same evening. The prowler stole $150 cash.



Police responded to a crash Jan. 11 at the intersection of West Owasso Boulevard and Arbogast Street, where a 69-year-old man had driven into the left side of an 86-year-old woman’s car. The woman seemed confused and disoriented, so she was taken to Unity Hospital.


Police chase

Multiple squad cars were involved in a chase just before midnight Jan. 12 that began on Interstate 694 in the area of Lexington Avenue and ended when the driver in the car being pursued lost control and crashed in the area of Highway 10 and Interstate 35W. The two people inside the car ran off, but deputies eventually tracked them down. One of them, a 29-year-old man from Hastings, was arrested for fleeing police in a motor vehicle, drug possession and a Department of Corrections warrant. The other, a 30-year-old woman also from Hastings, was arrested for fleeing police and for a Dakota County Warrant.


Snapchat scam

A 23-year-old man told deputies Jan. 12 that he was out $1,500 after he attempted to buy clothing from someone in California using Snapchat and a cash exchange application.

Cold deeds, cold treats

Police tracked down a 29-year-old woman Jan. 3 on a Metro Transit bus after she walked out of the SuperAmerica in the 3200 block of Stinson Boulevard just prior without paying for three ice cream bars. The woman was sent on her way with a citation for misdemeanor theft.


Dryer misdeeds

A 47-year-old man told police Jan. 2 he was out $70 worth of clothing after someone lifted his gear out of one of the community dryers at his apartment building in the 2500 block of Silver Lane.


Felon voter

Officers were told Dec. 31 about a 31-year-old man who is a convicted felon who voted in violation of laws that prevent convicted felons from voting. Police contacted the man’s probation officer who confirmed he’s still on probation; the case is pending further investigation.


Minors consuming

Police stopped an 18-year-old man from Minneapolis at Silver Lake Road and 34th Avenue Jan. 1; he blew a .071 blood alcohol concentration and was arrested and cited and released for DWI-underage drinking and driving. His three passengers, two men aged 18 and a 19-year-old, were all warned about minor consumption — they blew blood alcohol concentrations of .01, .01 and .03, respectively.


Sound system

A 27-year-old woman told police Dec. 31 that while her car was parked at the auto parts store in the 2900 block of Pentagon Drive someone smashed its back window and stole her sound system. The speakers and whatnot were worth about $204; it’ll cost another $200 to fix the window.


Text scam

A 58-year-old woman told police Jan. 2 she was out $300 through some sort of text scam. She reported the fraud to her credit card company, which cancelled the purchase.
