Cut converter

A 23-year-old man told police Dec. 27 that someone had attempted to steal the catalytic converter from his car as it was parked at apartments in the 1600 block of Eustis Street. Thieves steal the exhaust system part because it contain metals that can be sold for scrap. The 23-year-old discovered the exhaust connection to the converter had been cut when he started his vehicle and it made a loud noise. The attempted thief caused $500 worth of damage to the man’s car.

Inimical to public safety

Witnesses called police from the area of Interstate 35E and Little Canada Road the evening of Jan. 6 to report a man driving erratically, possibly under the influence.
