Arden Hills


A deputy stopped a car just after midnight Dec. 30 on Lexington Avenue at Interstate 694 that was occupied by two drunk men. The driver, a 27-year-old from St. Paul, was arrested for second-degree DWI.




A 20-year-old man stopped Dec. 19 on Highway 280 at Broadway Street was found to be in possession of ecstasy, so he was arrested for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and booked at the Ramsey County Jail.



A 28-year-old Roseville man was stopped Dec. 20 on Larpenteur Avenue at Highway 280 and arrested for DWI after blowing a .14 blood alcohol concentration. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for gross misdemeanor third-degree DWI and driving with a revoked license.

Little Canada

Brazen fender bender

The father of a 22-year-old woman called deputies from his place in the first block of Big Circle Drive Dec. 27 after watching a neighbor from across the street back into his daughter’s vehicle. The driving neighbor in question was identified as a 17-year-old girl from Oakdale.



Mounds View

Christmas party

An officer headed to the 2600 block of Mounds View Boulevard the afternoon of Dec. 25 to look into a noise complaint. The subjects of the complaint agreed to turn their music down.


Delayed reaction

A person who lives in the 5100 block of Irondale Road chose Dec. 28 as the day to report to police the August theft of money and cell phones from their residence.


New Brighton

DWI duty

Between Dec. 27 and Jan. 1 New Brighton police officers made five DWI arrests. For the Dec. 27 arrest, an officer saw a 2018 Mazda driven by a 69-year-old Minneapolis man failing to keep a lane as it drove on Old Highway 8 — the officer had to swerve as the man almost hit him head on as the two passed. After being pulled over, the man admitted he’d drank whiskey and blew a .13 blood alcohol concentration. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for DWI.



DWI crash

Deputies headed to the 3300 block of Lexington Avenue the night of Dec. 28 on a report of a three-car pile-up crash with injuries, and ended up arresting a 46-year-old Arden Hills man for DWI. The man initially blew a .255 blood alcohol concentration — three times the legal limit to drive — and admitted to drinking whiskey prior to getting behind the wheel.


Idle hands

The evening of Dec. 27 deputies headed to the Shoreview Community Center in the 4500 block of Victoria Street on a report of multiple teens fighting, and ended up getting in touch with the parents of seven kids who were trespassed from the center for fighting and theft.


Purse snatched, retrieved

A 42-year-old woman told police the afternoon of Dec. 27 that three men at the Shoreview Community Center attempted to steal her purse but she chased them down and got it back. She also helped police to identify possible suspects.


Revoked for a reason

A deputy watched a 34-year-old Vadnais Heights woman pass a turning driver on Hodgson Road Dec. 27 by pulling into oncoming traffic over the double yellow line, nearly hitting the deputy’s squad car head on. It turned out the woman, who had a revoked license, had not had a license since 2013.

Police picked up a 32-year-old man who was drunk in the Walgreens in the 3700 block of Silver Lake Road Dec. 19 and took him to Ramsey County Detox.

Drugs in jail

A 26-year-old man stopped Dec. 22 on Silver Lake Road at County Road E was arrested for felony possession of a firearm, driving with a revoked license and no proof of insurance; he was booked at the Ramsey County Jail. While in jail, marijuana was found in the man’s underwear — an additional charge of bringing contraband into jail was added to his list of possible charges. Police also think they found PCP in his car, which will be tested.


Failed compliance check

Police carried out an alcohol compliance check at the municipal liquor store in the 2600 block of 39th Avenue on Dec. 15 and one of the clerks failed, selling booze to a 19-year-old buyer. The employee, a 59-year-old man, was told he would be formally charged with gross misdemeanor liquor sale to an underage person.


Sexual assault

A 33-year-old woman told police Dec. 30 she was sexually assaulted by a man she had met at a party. The man was identified as a 25-year-old — the case is pending further investigation.


Woman attacks car

A 66-year-old woman told police Dec. 11 that she honked at two people walking in the middle of the road near the bank in the 3900 block of Silver Lake Road, and one of them, a woman, turned and began kicking the older woman’s vehicle. The irate woman then jumped on the car’s hood and began to smash it, along with the windshield. The woman was located and identified as a 22-year-old. She was questioned about what she’d allegedly done and taken to her grandmother’s and released, having been told she should expect to be charged with felony criminal property damage and disorderly conduct. The damage to the vehicle will cost roughly $2,500 to fix.
