LETTER: Vote for the candidate who shows up

To the Editor:

I am supporting Julie Ohs for Washington County Commissioner in District 2. The world is run by those who show up and unlike the incumbent, Julie shows up.

She has missed just a few meetings in her 12 years on the city council. She shows up and is well prepared. Julie not only shows up for council meetings and other assigned committees, she shows up in other ways, while the incumbent mostly shows up for meetings that he is paid to attend as a commissioner.

Julie is a founding member and current Chair of the Woodbury Yellow Ribbon Network. She is currently working with a group of volunteers to take care of some maintenance issues on a deployed soldier’s home. Julie shows up to volunteer at her church. She is also a “certified volunteer” for Feed My Starving Children and has participated in multiple packing events including the recent 5 Million Meals Oct. 4-7. This most recent packing event also benefitted CCEFS which is located in Oakdale — where was Stan?

Julie also participated in the community build for Madison’s Place inclusive playground. She also volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and has worked on two townhomes and a playground in her community.

This seat has been held by men for the past 20 years. We need equal representation in our governing bodies. Julie is very qualified to serve this district, please help us gain more equal representation.

On Nov. 6 I am going to SHOW UP and vote for Julie Ohs.
