LETTER: Regarding the 'jungle' alongside Valley Curve

To the Editor:

There has been a jungle of overgrowth on power lines on Valley Curve for 40 years, caused by tree-huggers on the council. It seems like a semi-annual event: power outage and fire, like on Oct. 4. It is costly to the city and the power company, all eventually paid for by the taxpayers. Sometimes an outage will last for a day and a half, causing food spoilage, computer failures because of the surge and a frustrating overall nuisance to your taxpayers. The city sometimes hires a tree-trimmer company ... that trims some small branches, overgrown next year. The city owns 10 feet off the road ... clear cut it or go underground, as some electrical already is.
