Inver Grove Heights

Unlocked

A woman reported Sept. 12 that someone entered her unlocked vehicle in the 8300 block of Bravo Way and stole $45.

 

Fight

Two young girls fought in the McDonalds after school Sept. 12 following months of arguments and bullying. Both girls were spoken to, as were their parents. The parents and high school will be addressing the issues.

 

Fugitive

On Sept. 12, a drunkenness report came in from the 5700 block of Bishop Avenue. A 54-year-old man was arrested for DWI and for fugitive from justice charges.

 

File a report

A man reported Sept. 13 that he sold an item on eBay and the buyer ultimately kept the item but didn’t pay for it. The man told police eBay policy dictates he needed to make a police report before getting his money back.

 

Hit-and-run

A 36-year-old man was cited for leaving the scene of an accident that occurred Sept. 13 in the 3100 block of 65th Street.

 

Shouldn’t be here

Officers checked out some suspicious activity near the 3100 block of 65th Street Sept. 14. A man was arrested for an out-of-state parole violation.

 

Not me

On Sept. 14, police responded to the 5600 block of Bishop Avenue for a past-action theft report. A nearby hotel received information from a past guest’s credit card company that the transaction was not authorized, and the company was not paying for the amount owed.

 

Rearranging

A report came in Sept. 16 from the 4600 block of Bloomberg Lane for damage to property. The glass from a patio door was damaged and yard furniture was moved.

 

Mendota Heights

Drugs

Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Sibley Memorial Highway for two suspicious people Sept. 7. A woman involved admitted to officers she had drug paraphernalia in her purse. Both parties were transported out of the city. 

 

Smash and grab

On Sept. 8, an officer took a report of theft that occurred near the 1300 block of Sibley Memorial Highway. A vehicle had the rear window broken and items were taken from inside. The items were later recovered and returned to the owner. 

 

All over the road

An officer was dispatched for a driving complaint in the area of Interstate 494 and Pilot Knob Road Sept. 9. The officer was behind the vehicle and saw it drive between lanes and weave in its lane. The driver admitted when pulled over to consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested for DWI.

Later that same evening, an officer pulled a vehicle over in the area of Dodd Road and Highway 62. The vehicle was stopped at a green light and once it continued driving, it swerved over the shoulder fog line. The officer could smell alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol before driving – the driver blew a .089 and was arrested for fourth-degree DWI.

 

It’s garbage

On Sept. 10, officers responded to the 2100 block of Dodd Road on the report of a burglary. They responded to a building to find a door had been broken, and garbage had been spread inside. Nothing was found to be missing.

 

Warrant arrest

Officers responded to a mutual aid request from the Dakota County Sheriff’s office to make a felony warrant arrest on a vehicle being followed by investigators from the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office. The stop was made in the 800 block of Highway 13 Sept. 13. The subject was taken into custody.

 

South St. Paul

Domestic

A man was charged in connection with a domestic assault that happened Sept. 13 after punching his girlfriend in the face. A warrant is out for his arrest.

 

Disturbance

On Sept. 15, a man was transported to Dakota County Jail after being arrested for disorderly conduct.

 

West St. Paul

Hmm

A call came in Sept. 13 from a man in the area of Oakdale and Thompson avenues about a man spraying some kind of foam on a hedge at the golf course. There was a van that said Real Life, but the caller didn’t think the man worked for the golf course.

 

BYOB

A man brought his own bottle of alcohol into a business in the 400 block of Mendota Road Sept. 14. The man told the complainant that he was “not one you would want to mess with.” 

 

Beep beep

A vehicle backed up into another car inside a car wash Sept. 14 in the 100 block of Thompson Avenue. 

 

Please leave

On Sept. 14, a call came in from the 1200 block of Robert Street about a man going from table to table bothering people. When confronted, he claimed he had a gun — no gun was seen by anyone. The caller just wanted the man to leave, which he did.

 

Lock the door

A woman called police Sept. 15 to report that garage door openers were missing from both her vehicles on Marie Avenue. Both vehicles were rummaged through. The homeowners told police the car in the driveway was unlocked and someone entered it and opened the garage door then accessed the car in there. Nothing appeared to be missing other than the remotes to the garage door.

 

Stolen mail

On Sept. 17, a woman called police from the 900 block of Felix Street after seeing the driver of a car steal her mail right out of the mailbox. The woman told police the four stolen pieces of mail each had a personal check in them.

 

Was it garbage?

A man had two large garbage bags and was running around a lot in the 400 block of Annapolis Street West Sept. 18. A white vehicle pulled up and the man put the bags in the car before getting in and driving off.
