Submit your work to the St. Paul Almanac


St. Paul Almanac is gearing up to publish its twelfth edition of the St. Paul Almanac and is looking for stories, poetry, art, and photos of St. Paul. The deadline to submit work is midnight, Nov. 1.

Every published writing piece receives $50. Every published art piece or photo receives $10. Those whose work  is chosen for publication will receive one free book. Artists also keep their own copyright.Submit work at

Written submissions will be reviewed by the St. Paul Almanac board of 25 community editors. The community editors are a multi-generational group from 14 years old on up. Eight community editors are always high school students. Five community editors are practicing professional writers. This year professional community editors and writers are IBé, Wendy Brown-Báez, Michael Kleber-Diggs, Marion Gómez, and Ben Weaver. Written selections will be made and writers notified of acceptance by Jan. 30, 2019. Book publication is Sept. 13, 2019.

St. Paul Almanac is a literary-centered arts organization that has been publishing an annual book of St. Paul stories and poems for more than a decade. The St. Paul Almanac shares stories across cultures and cultivate dialogue to promote understanding, relationships, and collaborative action.
