Rotary hosts ‘Taste of the Hops’

The Arden Hills-Shoreview Rotary Club is hosting “Taste of the Hops” on Friday, Aug. 17, starting at 5:30 p.m. at Snail Lake Regional Park. Enjoy a fun evening including beer samples, food, music raffles and a silent auction. The price is $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Proceeds go to high school scholarships, youth exchange programs, sponsorship of community activities and programs like the Rotary’s initiative to end polio worldwide. Advocating for second chances

The League of Women Voters Roseville Area will host a presentation by Sarah Walker, founder of Minnesota Second Chance Coalition on Tuesday Aug. 21, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Roseville Lexington Park Building, 2131 Lexington Ave. The nonpartisan coalition of over 50 organizations advocates for policies and outreach to enable individuals who have been incarcerated to transition successfully into their communities and to prevent relapse into the criminal justice system. The presentation is free and open to the public.


Roseville School ofDance open house

On Monday, Aug. 27, soft shoe, tap or hip hop your way over to the Roseville School of Dance open house from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fairview Community Center, 1910 County Road B. You’ll get a chance to meet the dance instructors, learn about levels of instruction at the dance school, hear plans for the upcoming year and have the opportunity to register for a dance class. Weekly double deckpinochle and euchre game 

A group of St. Anthony residents hosts a weekly double deck pinochle game on Mondays and Thursdays starting at 11:30 a.m., and an euchre game Saturdays starting at noon, and Wednesdays starting at 5:30 p.m. at an apartment community room in St. Anthony. Play cribbage and500 in Roseville

The Roseville Senior Club 5 is looking for new players to join in games of cribbage and 500. The club meets at the Rosetown Legion, 700 County Road C, the first and third Thursdays of the month. Sign-in is at 11:45 a.m. and is followed by coffee and dessert, with play beginning at 12:15 p.m.
