Monthly highlight from School District 622 - August 2018

Each school year, staff in District 622 cherish the opportunity to educate learners ages 3 to 21. Once a student receives a diploma or certificate, there is no greater hope than scholars applying the academic, social and emotional lessons learned in school to the world of adulthood.

As educators, we enjoy nothing more than hearing how former students are maneuvering the journey of life. As fellow students, there is natural curiosity to learn what former classmates, friends and teachers have accomplished personally and professionally.

In the coming weeks, District 622 will embark on a new alumni outreach effort to connect with District 622 graduates. It will be multi-pronged initiative, including a quarterly publication, website and Facebook page created specifically for district graduates. Volunteer opportunities will be available for those interested to return to the classroom based on specific areas of interest. There will even be easy ways to donate financial resources through the 622 Education Foundation to help the district’s most disadvantaged students.

To get involved, visit to fill out a short questionnaire. Information collected will be used to send periodic communications relating to District 622. Your email address will be added to the alumni listserv and may be shared with other entities connected to District 622, such as reunion information and booster information, for communication purposes.

As mentioned, the 622 Connections publication will launch this fall. Distributed via email to the alumni listserv and webpage, this quarterly publication will serve as a way for graduates to stay up-to-date with district news, events and professional and personal accomplishments of former classmates. Content submitted by graduates and their families will drive the success of this publication, so I encourage individuals to submit items often! The email address to send items to is

Our Facebook page for district alumni is available by searching ‘District 622 Alumni’. We are excited to offer a way for graduates to share photos of their time in school and reconnect with fellow classmates.

On behalf of the entire district, I hope you partake in our latest efforts to reach out to our alumni. Thank you for being #622PROUD!
