Flower show

The Lake Owasso Garden Club hosts the flower show “Unlocking The Garden Gate” at the Roseville Library on Saturday, July 14, starting at 1 pm, and Sunday, July 15, starting at noon. The show is free. Come and view flower arrangements, prized plant specimens and garden photography from Lake Owasso Garden Club members. The Roseville Library is located at 2180 Hamline Ave N in Roseville. ‘Science of Peace’ talk

The St. Anthony Library will host the presentation “Science of Peace” by educator, musician and spiritual program coordinator Arlene Samsel on Monday, July 16, starting at 6:15 p.m. The presentation is free and interactive.  ‘History of the Blues’

The Shoreview Library is hosting blues musician Joey Leone’s “History of the Blues” presentation on Tuesday, July 17, starting at 1 p.m. Leone will talk and play his way through an informal history of the blues, including plenty of stories about musicians like Etta James and Chaka Khan. Ice cream social 

The New Neighbors Club is hosting an ice cream social in Arden Hills Thursday, July 19 starting at 1 pm. The ice cream social is for current and prospective members of the women’s friendship club. Ice cream social and ‘Hot Dog with a Deputy’

There will be an ice cream social and “Hot Dog with a Deputy” event on Thursday, July 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Falcon Heights Community Park, 2050 Roselawn Ave. Sponsored by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office and the Falcon Heights-Lauderdale Lion’s Club, the free event will include ice cream, hot dogs, a bounce house, music, games and community groups.


Double deck pinochle and euchre game 

A group of St. Anthony residents hosts a weekly double deck pinochle game on Mondays and Thursdays starting at 11:30 a.m., and an euchre game Saturdays starting at noon and Wednesdays starting at 5:30 p.m. at an apartment community room in St. Anthony. Learn to inline skate 

Every Wednesday night this summer learn how to inline skate at the Roseville OVAL. The cost is $5 per lesson and Greater MN Speedskating will have its inline coaches on hand to guide beginning skaters through the learning process. Skaters of all levels will benefit from the lessons, but they will be geared toward novice and youth skaters. Warmups begin at 5 p.m. with instruction beginning at 5:30 p.m. Weather cancellations are possible. The OVAL is located at 2661 Civic Center Drive in Roseville.


Roseville LWV hosts ‘Brews and Book Reviews’

The League of Women Voters Roseville Area is once again hosting the highly popular “Brews and Book Reviews event on Tuesday, July” 24, at 7 p.m. at the Bent Brewstillery, 1744 Terrace Drive, Roseville. Attendees are encouraged to bring a book to recommend to others for summer reading. Craft beers and non-alcoholic drinks are available for purchase. The event is open to the public. Invite a friend and join in for a relaxing evening discovering what is on everyone’s recommended book list.
