Mounds View class of ‘68 reunion

The Mounds View High School class of 1968 is celebrating its 50-year class reunion at the Marriott Northwest in Brooklyn Park on Saturday, Aug. 18, starting at 6 p.m.

Over the course of 50 years of reunions, the class of ‘68 has celebrated with a picnic and a boat cruise. One reunion was  formal, another was very informal. Fifty years is a monumental anniversary for the class, so, this time around, the plan is doing this one up in style.

The cost is $60 in advance and $70 at the door, which includes an entree choice between parmesan-crusted walleye or a New York strip, served with salad, vegetables, rice/potato, rolls, butter, coffee, tea and dessert. There will be a cash bar and DJ spinning hits from the class’s high school days and sparking memories from that pivotal point in their lives.

The Marriott has provided the group with rooms at a discounted price of $114 a night. The rooms require reservations by calling 763-536-8300 by July 18.

Reunion organizers urge participants to send their payment for the reunion as early as possible in order to pay the venue in advance. Also, be sure to select an entree choice with the delivery of checks, which are to be sent to P.O. Box 47802 Plymouth, MN, 55447.

The Marriott Northwest is located at Interstate 694 and Boone Avenue in Brooklyn Park.
