The four store locations provide the comfort and care of a family-owned business with the prices and selection of the big box stores.

When looking to revamp your floors, knowing what color you want is the easy part. For every other decision, Abbey Carpet’s experienced staff will work with you to find the perfect match for your home.

Being a part of more than 1,000 stores nationwide, this local, family-owned franchise business is able to carry a wide range of products with competitive pricing compared to the big box stores.

Mounds View store manager Wes Wilson says Abbey has carpet and hard-surface flooring options for any and every need.

“I’ve been in this business off-and-on for the last 10 years, and I’ve never been in a flooring store that has this big of a showroom,” Wes says. “We have the largest selection of flooring I’ve ever seen.”

Whether it’s brands like Fabrica, Masland, Stanton or anything in between, Abbey Carpet has more than 1,250 styles to provide both the discount and high-end designer products its customers want. Store owner Peter Wilson says he strives to work like a big chain without actually being one.

“What people really like about us is that we’re a one-stop shop,” Peter says. “They deal only with us: one schedule, one bill, one price, one everything.”

Over the years, the Wilson family has been able to expand and spread the business over a 100-mile radius. They own and operate four stores in Chisago City, North Branch, Mounds View and New Richmand, Wisconsin.

But Abbey Carpet offers more than just flooring. Peter says the staff can help fix and replace other parts of your home, giving it a brand-new aesthetic makeover.

“We can do the flooring, painting, cabinetry and woodwork, which is all visible by eye,” he says. “When you look around your house, everything that is visible can be face-lifted by us. We do it all.”

The Mounds View location has maintained an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau since opening in 2003 and has been the top-rated Twin Cities flooring company on Angie’s List for seven consecutive years. The business has always worked to provide only quality renovations with its thousands of products — and it shows.

No matter which flooring or home renovations you choose, the staff at Abbey Carpet wants to always provide quality customer service and flooring that lasts for years to come.

“You can’t afford to buy it twice,” Peter says. “Bad experiences can happen with others in this business, but here at Abbey, we work hard to take any trouble out of the equation.”

“We first purchased flooring from Abbey Carpet when they were in their New Brighton location about 1975, and have used them many times over the years. We even had them install carpet in our church. In 2011, we built a new home and again used Abbey Carpet from their new location in Mounds View. We have always been pleased and have referred many people to Abbey Carpet.”

“I purchased my first flooring from Abbey Carpet almost 40 years ago and over the years I keep going back as I need new flooring. It has been a joy working with them because they are so helpful and caring of my needs. Kathy and Karleen have been with Abbey for over 35 years and they take special care of me. I have referred my friends to Abbey Carpet and they are also pleased.”

“This is the thid time I have used Abbey Carpet to carpet my home. The first time was when the builder of my new home recommended Abbey Carpet. Many years later when I was ready to downsize, I used them again and now my townhouse is being redone. They were perfect every time and have the best prices around. They even beat Home Depot’s prices and had much better service.”
