Despite being a New Brighton resident, Sharon Pillen has supported the Roseville Historical Society for many years, said society member Beverly Kroschel. Pillen, seen above at the recent craft fair at Roseville City Hall, makes and sells breads and jams, relishes and pickles, raising money that goes to support the historical society. “It takes a lot of bread and jam to make [that] money,” said Kroschel. In October, Pillen was named a “Hometown Hero” by the Modern Woodmen organization and according to Kroschel, her jams have won awards at county fairs and the Minnesota State Fair.
