Mom’s Coconut Bon-Bon’s

1 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened

2-1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar (sift before measuring)

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dash salt

1 drop green food color or 1 drop red food color

1/3 to 1/2 cup flaked coconut


INSTRUCTIONS:  In medium bowl, with wooden spoon, beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in powdered sugar blending thoroughly. Beat in vanilla and salt. Add just enough food color to tint a delicate green (or dark pink). Refrigerate, covered, 1 hour. Then shape into balls using a rounded teaspoon of mixture for each. Roll each in coconut. Place on cookie sheet covered with waxed paper; refrigerate several hours or until firm.
