Reformation Hymn Festival

Hope Lutheran Church on St. Paul’s East Side will host a Reformation 500th Anniversary Celebration Hymn Festival on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m., during the church’s usual worship time. The program will consist of hymns sung by the assembled congregation, with choir and organ, under the direction of Dr. Paul Barte, professor of organ and music history at Ohio University.  Barte served as organist and choir director at Hope from 1979 to 1985. Many hymns of the Reformation era will be featured and the program will offer a survey of hymns through the church year. All are invited to attend and join in song. Hope Lutheran Church is located at 1340 N. Hazel. For more information visit
