Oakdale support group for families

 The Minnesota chapter of National Alliance on Mental Illness sponsors free support groups for families and friends of individuals living with a mental illness. Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences. A family support group meets in Oakdale on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Canvas Health, 7066 Stillwater Blvd., in the community room.  For information, call Dan at 651-341-8918.


POW/MIA Candle Light March

Everyone is enchouraged to participate in the POW/MIA Candle Light March Thursday, Sept. 7. Please meet at the Arther O. Haukland VFW Post 1350 on Seventh Avenue in North St. Paul at 6:30 p.m. The group will then walk three blocks to Veterans Memorial Park for a short ceremony. The march is in honor and remembrance of our Prisoners of War and those still Missing in Action. For more information call Paul Hendrickson at 651-738-3435.


Toastmasters International weekly meeting

Join Toastmasters International at the next weekly meeting Aug. 21 to see how they can help you with your communication and leadership goals.
