Aging with dignity

The Benedictine Center in Maplewood is presenting a series of four monthly workshops called “The Life Journey: Aging with Dignity.”  They will be held on Tuesdays starting Sept. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m.  Remaining sessions are on Oct. 3, Nov. 7 and Dec. 5.  The cost for all four sessions is $80.

“Participants will examine misperceptions about aging and focus on aging as a gift of God,” explains Sam Rahberg, director of the Center.  Sessions will include reflections, contemplative prayer and conversations based on questions that come up, such as ‘Who am I as my roles change?’ or ‘Where is God in the aging process?”

The series will be led by Steve Arnold, a spiritual director, Lutheran deacon and chaplain at St. Anthony Senior Living.  His doctoral work is in adult education and educational gerontology.
