Community art show

For the past two weeks, Oak Meadows tenants along with students from Skyview Elementary, have been making Peace Poles and will debut them at the art show, July 24 at the community room at Oak Meadows, 8131 Fourth St. N., Oakdale. The Peace Poles will then be displayed in Oak Meadows gardens and at Skyview Elementary School. The art show will be a carnival theme with corn dogs, mini donuts and cotton candy. The art show begins at 6 p.m., and everyone is welcome to attend.


Aliens Attack!

Attention, Earthlings! Aliens have invaded the Oakdale Public Library, and you are invited to join the fun. Make your own alien slime, spaceship and participate in other games and activities that are out of this world. This event is for children ages 8-12 and will be held Aug. 2, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Oakdale Public Library, 1010 Heron Ave. N. Register online, at the library or by calling 651-730-0504.


County attorney holds community conversation

Washington County Attorney Pete Orput will discuss sex-trafficking in Washington County Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. July 26 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 6355 10th St. N. in Oakdale.  Everyone interested in this important issue in our community is welcome to attend.


Penguin party with author Megan Maynor

Aug. 8 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Oakdale Public Library is celebrating the  lla & Penguin icture book series with author Megan Maynor. Enjoy an interactive presentation, do penguin activities and crafts, and meet a real life author. This event is for children ages 3-8 and will be held at the Oakdale Public Library, 1010 Heron Ave. N. Siblings are welcome to attend as well. 


DFL East Metro Senior Caucus

The August 10 DFL East Metro Senior Caucus meeting will include a debriefing/panel discussion with local legislators. The topics that will be addresses are  ‘What went down at the Capitol?’ and ‘How will it affect us going forward?’. Sen. Susan Kent, Sen. Dan Schoen, Rep. Joanne Ward, Rep. Sheldon Johnson and Rep. Peter Fischer are the invited panel guests. All are welcome to attend at 11:30 a.m. at Sgt. Pepper’s Bar and Grill, 930 Helena Ave. N., Oakdale. Participants buy their own lunch and are eligible for a door prize.
