Girls hockey playoffs continue this week

The Hill-Murray girls hockey team, as expected, earned the No. 1 seed in the Section 4AA playoffs, which started last weekend and continue this week.

The Pioneers opened the post-season by hosting eighth-seeded Irondale/St. Anthony Village on Feb. 11, past the deadline for this edition of the Review.

Barring an unforeseen and improbable upset, Hill-Murray will be back in action on Feb. 14 in a semifinal contest against either fifth-seeded Roseville or fourth-seeded Stillwater.

North/Tartan, the sixth seed, also opened the playoffs on Feb. 11 against third-seeded White Bear Lake. The winner of that game plays Feb. 14 against either second-seeded Mounds View or seventh-seeded Woodbury.

The Section 4AA championship game is Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. All games in the section tournament take place at Aldrich Arena.
