Airsoft shots fired in Little Canada

Arrests, Thefts and more around Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, and Roseville - Roseville Review police reports December 13, 2016.

Falcon Heights

They’ll get you for that cracked windshield — that’s what the 22-year-old found out Nov. 21 when he was pulled over at Larpenteur and Fairview avenues. The stop was for the glass and the citations included that violation, along with driving an uninsured vehicle and no proof of insurance on demand.

Counterfeits at the BP

Twice in separate transactions on Nov. 24 an employee at the BP gas station in the 1600 block of Snelling Avenue was offered counterfeit $20 bills. The first time the employee accepted it; the second time, smelling something foul, the clerk held onto the fake while denying the sale. Both forgeries were handed over to police and the gas station is out roughly $20.

Don’t just stand there

Officers driving past the intersection of Snelling and Larpenteur avenues Nov. 23 saw two people standing outside their cars and decided to check things out. It just so happened the two cars had been in a minor accident. It all could have ended there, though one of the drivers, a 23-year-old woman from St. Paul, was arrested for DWI. She blew a .15 blood-alcohol concentration and was taken to the Ramsey County Jail, booked for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated.

DWI, again

Another St. Paulite, a 27-year-old woman, was pulled over for speeding in the area of Larpenteur Avenue and Pascal Street Nov. 23. She blew a .16 and she was off to the Ramsey County Jail, booked for third-degree DWI.

One hand clapping

It was Nov. 26 and another alcohol-related accident. This time, police were told about a one-vehicle accident — think car runs into curb or pole — and headed to the intersection of Snelling and Larpenteur avenues to check it out. There, they found a 20-year-old man who ended up blowing a .043 blood-alcohol concentration. In what might have been a moment of leniency, police issued the driver a citation for underage consumption and he was “transported to a location at his request.”

Case of the Mondays

Over the weekend into Nov. 21, someone messed with a security vehicle outside a trucking business in the 2500 block of Broadway Street, smashing a window and stealing the lights off the top of it. The lights were valued at $1,500, while an estimate of the damage to the window is forthcoming.

Police stopped a 25-year-old Minneapolis man for speeding at Highway 280 and Broadway Street Nov. 24 and found he was intoxicated — he blew a .18 alcohol concentration. He was taken to the Ramsey County Jail and booked for third-degree DWI.

Little Canada

Airsoft shots fired

A couple boys from Roseville Area Middle School, a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old, stole a couple of airsoft BB guns from Kmart Dec. 5. They were horsing around at a bus stop outside the school, when one of the boys shot the other in the leg and face. The father of the shooter told police to go ahead and arrest him. The knuckleheads’ stories have changed several times, so police are having a hard time nailing down if the shooting was malicious, or just an accident.

Domestic assault

Police arrested a 52-year-old Rochester man Dec. 4 after he held a gun to the head of his 45-year-old girlfriend, a woman from Little Canada. He threatened to kill her after she refused to have sex with him after they returned home from a bar. The man drove away but was found in a restaurant parking lot in the 2500 block of Rice Street. He was arrested and charged with felony domestic assault.

Police arrested the 26-year-old driver of a blue BMW for third-degree DWI after he broadsided a Chevy truck at an intersection in the 2900 block of Edgerton Street on Dec. 2. The man, who’s from St. Paul, had his insurance canceled back in April. His passenger, a 21-year-old man, was arrested for obstructing the legal process.

Fight at Flameburger?

Not much came of a 3 a.m. report of a fight at Flameburger in the 2500 block of Rice Street on Dec. 4; deputies responded but no one was there.

Lurking with intent to smoke meth

Police arrested a 33-year-old man from St. Louis Park who was seen skulking around closed businesses and cars Dec. 1 in the 100 block of County Road C. The man, openly carrying around a bubble pipe, which is frequently used to smoke methamphetamine, was also found to have some of the drug on him. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail.

Mistaken identity?

A deputy patrolling in the 100 block of Demont Avenue Nov. 30 thought he recognized a car as connected to a recent burglary. He stopped it, and ended up arresting a 36-year-old Little Canada woman for driving with a revoked license.
