Man threatening a bomb robs bank inside Lunds & Byerlys in Roseville

Police are asking for help in identifying this man, who robbed the U.S. Bank location inside the Roseville Lunds & Byerlys the evening of Nov. 14.

Bank robbery

Just before bank closing time Nov. 14, a man robbed the U.S. Bank branch located inside Lunds & Byerlys on County Road C, threatening employees with a bomb, though no weapon was ever seen.

Roseville police said the person, described as a thin, 5 foot 5 inches tall, African-American or mixed race man in his 30s, entered the bank just as its 7 p.m. closing time was approaching.

He announced his intentions to rob the bank, but police said, “Bank employees report the suspect never displayed a weapon but threatened a bomb.”

The man, wearing a green puffy coat, baseball cap and a fake beard and mustache, was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.

The Roseville Police Department and FBI are seeking the public’s help in identifying and arresting the man — call Minnesota Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or text your tip to 274637. Type “Tipsy674 plus your tip.” Anonymous reports are accepted.

Police said people who provide information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward.

Domestic assault

A 28-year-old man pushed down and slapped a pregnant 27-year-old woman in her face during a disagreement Nov. 8. The woman was taken to the hospital and checked out. The man was charged with violating an order for protection and fifth-degree assault — the felony case was turned over to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office.

A 32-year-old woman told police Nov. 7 someone had made a fraudulent charge of $28.03 on her credit card even though she still had it in her possession. The woman called her bank to cancel the card, and she’ll be reimbursed for the loss.

A 29-year-old man told police Nov. 12 that not only did he have fraudulent transactions on his credit card, but he also found some unusual activity had happened on his phone — phone fraud? He canceled both the card and the phone and will get his money back for the bad credit card charges.

Friends don’t let friends ...

Police stopped a car at Eustis Street and Larpenteur Avenue Nov. 11 and found the driver, a 46-year-old man, had a cancelled license. The passenger, a 70-year-old man and the owner of the car, was arrested and released with a citation for allowing the operation of an uninsured vehicle.
