Cut and run in Little Canada

Arrests, Thefts and more around Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, and Roseville - Roseville Review police reports October 18, 2016.


Falcon Heights



Responding to an accident at Laprenteur and Cleveland avenues Sept. 29, police ended up arresting and citing a 19-year-old man involved in the crash for inattentive driving, expired registration and no insurance.



Police arrested and cited a 24-year-old woman for faulty brake lights Sept. 28 at Larpenteur Avenue and Arona Street; the woman was also cited for driving with a revoked license and no proof of insurance.



Someone lifted a gas can from an open garage in the 1300 block of Idaho Street Sept. 26. The 56-year-old owner of the garage gave a description of the thief and provided cops with a surveillance photo; he figures he’s out $10 for loss of the can.


Someone broke into a house in the 1300 block of Hoyt Avenue Oct. 2 by kicking in the front door. The burglar stole three laptops, a cell phone, a game console, games and jewelry. There was no estimate of the total loss.


DWI repurcussions

Police arrested and cited a 48-year-old woman Oct. 2 at Snelling and Hoyt avenues for violating driver’s license restrictions, driving a car without ignition interlock, failing to comply with plate impound and for having expired registration.


Meth kit

Police stopped a 40-year-old man at Snelling and Larpenteur avenues Sept. 27 and found he had methamphetamine, hypodermic needles, pipes and plastic tubing used to inhale the meth. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance; he was also booked for driving with a revoked license, having no proof of insurance nor actual insurance, and for an outstanding Ramsey County warrant for felony car theft.





Between Sept. 28 and Oct. 1 police arrested and cited three people between the ages of 20 and 33 on Larpenteur Avenue for driving with suspended or revoked licenses.


Everything but the car

A 32-year-old woman told police Sept. 30 she’d left her car unlocked while it was parked in the 1600 block of Pleasant Street. Someone used the unlocked car as an opportunity to steal from it, taking the woman’s driver’s license, debit card and the remote starting system for the car.


Vending machine heist

Someone broke into and stole from a coin-operated vending machine at apartments in the 2400 block of Larpenteur Avenue; the theft was reported to police Sept. 28.


Little Canada



A woman called police Oct. 11 to report a black-and-white dog was acting aggressive towards her in the 100 block of Viking Drive. She said it was looking like it was going to bite her, but she yelled at it and the dog ran away.


Cut and run

A 17-year-old boy robbed George’s Barber Shop Oct. 6 — the kid grabbed some $200 worth of cash from the register and fled from the business, located in the first block of Little Canada Road, with a customer chasing him. Police say the boy tried to steal from other area businesses as well; they know his identity and are reviewing things before pressing charges.


Inside man

Police believe two people were hiding in an office waiting for closing time sometime before Oct. 5 at apartments in the 300 block of Labore Road. After the apartment manager left for the day, the thieves started rummaging through gym lockers looking for stuff to steal. They broke a window to get out of the building. Police have the names of multiple suspects.


Shots fired

Police received a report of five shots fired around 11 p.m. in the 400 block of Labore Road Oct. 5.
