Pioneers looking for turnaround season

The Hill-Murray football team, under new head coach Pete Bercich, opens the 2016 in search of a turnaround. The Pioneers went winless in the regular season a year ago.

Bercich, a former Minnesota Viking and current color commentator on Vikings radio broadcasts, inherits a team that last year went 0-8 in the regular season, was shut out three times and managed only single digits in points in three other games.

Hill-Murray’s most recent regular-season victory came in week eight of the 2014 season when it won 52-30 at Tartan.

The Pioneers look to start 2016 on a high note on Friday when they visit Tartan for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
