Concordia Academy senior Seguy Hanson is a first-year cross country runner but his performance at last week's Tri-Metro Conference championships didn't match his experience level. Hanson went out and captured the individual championship with a dominating performance.

Hanson completed the 5,000-meter course at Battle Creek Regional Park in 17:07.44. That time was nearly 14 seconds faster than that of the runner-up.

Joining Hanson as an all-conference performer was Concordia Academy freshman Barnabas Preble, who finished sixth overall.

Despite putting two runners in the top 10, Concordia Academy finished fifth out off six squads in the team standings. St. Anthony Village captured the team title, its second in a row, Fridley was second and Holy Angels took third.

On the girls' side, junior Elissa Boll paced the Beacons with a fifth-place finish. She completed the 5,000-meter course in 20:57.97.

As a team, Concordia took sixth out of six teams. Visitation won the team championship, Holy Angels was second and St. Anthony Village finished third.
