RAHS boys soccer claims impressive victory

Ties are common in soccer but the Roseville Area High School boys team has yet to have a match end in a draw. That includes three games that went to overtime.

The Raiders are 2-1 in overtime matches and picked up an impressive extra-time win on Saturday afternoon. Roseville traveled west and upset No. 2-ranked Minnetonka 1-0.

Bill Robertson tallied the game-winning goal for Roseville, which improved its overall record to 8-3 with five matches left in the regular season.

Roseville also beat Forest Lake 3-0 last week as Robertson scored twice and Karl Koob added another.

Roseville is just two wins away from its best regular-season record in more than 10 years. The Raiders won nine games in 2013.

The Raiders close out their home schedule this week with three games, starting on Tuesday against East Ridge. Roseville then welcomes Suburban East Conference-leading Cretin-Derham Hall on Thursday and Minneapolis Southwest for a non-conference match on Saturday.

Roseville then wraps up the regular season next week with trips to White Bear Lake and Stillwater.
