Roseville youth baseball team claims tourney title

The Roseville Rockies baseball team recently wrapped up its season by winning the Junior League tournament. The Junior League consists of teams made up of eighth and ninth graders from Little Canada, Mahtomedi, Maplewood, North St. Paul, Oakdale, Roseville and Stillwater.

The Rockies, whose players attend Roseville Area High School and the Academy for Sciences and Agriculture in Vadnais Heights, went 3-0 to claim the championship.
Roseville opened the tournament with a victory over the Little Canada Dodgers on July 13 at Roseville Area Middle School. In the semifinals on July 15, the Rockies beat the St. Croix Valley River Dogs at Stillwater Junior High School.

In the championship game on July 18 at Gladstone Field in Maplewood, Roseville beat the St. Croix Valley Rockhounds to clinch the title.
