Washington County campgrounds open May 1

The Washington County Parks will open campgrounds at Lake Elmo Park Reserve and St. Croix Bluffs on Friday, May 1.

Campsites are available for reservation or first come, first serve (limited) until Oct. 18. Sites vary from rustic with no electricity to modern with electricity at Lake Elmo Park Reserve or rustic, electric, and water/electricity with modern facilities at St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park.

To make a reservation, call the park offices at 651-430-8370 at Lake Elmo Park Reserve or 651-430-8240 at St. Croix Bluffs. Online reservations can also be made.

Camp host and work camper positions are available at both parks. 

Washington County vehicle permits are required for all vehicles entering the parks. Annual permits are $25 and daily permits are $5. Alcohol, in limited quantities, is only allowed in reserved campsites and picnic shelters. Pets are not allowed in the picnic areas, shelters, or campgrounds. A two-night minimum is required for weekend reservations, three nights for holiday weekends.

Lake Elmo Park Reserve is at 1515 Keats Ave. N. in Lake Elmo; St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park is at 10191 St. Croix Trail S., Hastings, in Denmark Township.
