Rams PI team finishes sixth at state

The Mounds View/Irondale/Roseville PI adapted soccer team competed in the state tournament last weekend at Stillwater Area High School. The Rams, the No. 3 North seed, finished sixth.

The Rams opened the tournament on Tuesday with a 10-3 loss to the No. 2 South seed South Suburban, which went on to lose in the semifinals and finish third.

Against South Suburban, the Rams got goals from Sean Carroll, Mark Lippert and Grant Drew.

The loss dropped the Rams into the consolation semifinals, where they took down the No. 4 South seed St. Paul Highland Park 7-3. Drew recorded the hat trick and made nine saves while Hadley Eby scored one goal and made five saves. Lippert scored twice and Carroll added one goal.

In the consolation final, the Rams lost 7-3 to the No. 3 South seed Dakota United. Drew scored all three of the Rams' goals and Carroll and Lippert had one assist each.

Drew was named to the all-tournament team.
