Oakdale resident struck with gun during home invasion

A 24-year-old man was injured when two unidentified men broke into his Oakdale home on Monday, Nov. 3.

According to a statement issued by the Oakdale Police Department, the incident occurred in the early afternoon when two men entered the home on 1315 Geneva Ave. N. by force. When police arrived at the scene at 1:30 p.m. they found one of the home's residents had facial injuries.

Oakdale police said the initial investigation revealed that two adult males forced their way into the house, and one of them used a handgun to strike the victim in the head and face. The victim was evaluated at the scene by emergency medical personnel for non-life threatening injuries, and was not transported to a hospital.

Two other men were inside the home at the time of the assault, but neither reported any injuries. Responding officers could not be reached for comment by the Review's deadline, and the case remains under investigation.

The initial information suggested it was not a random act of violence and "the public's safety is not in jeopardy," according to the press statement.
