Oakdale - Lake Elmo Review police reports Mar. 13, 2013


No forced entry: A burglary was reported on the 2300 block of Helena Road March 7. A woman reported someone entered her residence and took $500 in cash and several electronic items. There was no forced entry into the residence, and the burglar likely entered through an unlocked sliding glass door. There are no suspects in the burglary.

Stolen plates: A woman reported someone stole both license plates off her vehicle parked on the 6100 block of 40th Street sometime on March 4. There are no suspects in the theft.

Not buying it: An employee at Mills Fleet Farm said she observed a woman put a $200 leather jacket in her cart and then put her own coat on top of the jacket March 4. The customer then left the store without paying for the concealed jacket. When interviewed by police, the woman said she’d forgotten the jacket was under her coat. But police weren’t convinced, and the woman was issued a citation for misdemeanor theft and released.

Gas drive-off: A man reportedly pumped $60 worth of gas into a red Dodge Durango at Holiday gas station and then left without paying March 4. There are no suspects in the theft.

Garages broken into: On March 4, police received reports that several garages were broken into at Oakdale Village Apartments. There are no suspects in the break-ins.

Burglary: On March 3, a woman reported someone broke the front door of her residence on the 1500 block of Goodview Avenue N. and stole two TVs, three laptops, bags of silver coins, a signed and framed Adrian Peterson Vikings jersey, a digital camera and jewelry valued at more than $10,000. Police reported the burglar kicked and pried open the front door, and turned off the light switches for the motion lights.

Auto theft: Police were called to the 6300 block of Gopher Boulevard N. March 3 after a thief reportedly broke into a home and stole multiple items, including the keys to a 2003 Ford Explorer and the vehicle itself. Later that day, the vehicle was towed from outside an apartment complex in North St. Paul. Police photographed the scene.

Close call: On March 1, police were called to the 4800 block of Granada Avenue after a man was awakened by a loud banging on his front door. The resident found the inner doorframe splintered, and the door was cracked around the deadbolt. Officers checked the scene but were unable to locate any suspects in the attempted burglary.

Purse stolen: A woman reported someone broke the front passenger window of her 2008 Ford Escape parked outside LA Fitness Feb. 28 and stole a black satchel bag filled with several items of little value. There are no suspects in the theft.

Driving while intoxicated

Stuck in the snow: A caller reported a vehicle was stuck in a snowbank outside of Burke, Wheeler & Associates March 5, and investigating officers said the female driver showed signs of intoxication. She failed a field sobriety test and refused a preliminary breath test. She was arrested and transported to Washington County Jail, where a breath test registered her blood-alcohol content at .31.
